Alice - Trainer & Behaviourist
The Dream Dog was formed from Alice’s love for dogs and helping people. Alice uses her combined skills of people management with her studies in canine behaviour to help people understand how to better communicate and work with their dogs.
Alice began her career as a dog trainer working in rescue. Her experience comes from working with a range of different behavioural issues enabling her to provide support for simple things like recall to dealing with more complex behaviours such as separation anxiety and aggression. Alice is working towards accreditation with The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and is a member of the World Scent Dog Association (WSDA).
Our Services
Private 1-2-1
Our Training 1-2-1s focus on teaching vital life skills and basic obedience e.g. recall, pulling on the lead, jumping up, toilet training etc.
Our Behavioural 1-2-1s are designed to work on more complex behavioural issues e.g. resource guarding, dog-dog aggression, dog-human aggression, separation anxiety, excessive barking, noise phobias etc.
Both sessions are suitable for dogs of any age.
Our sessions include:
- A pre-session consultation to identify your dog's behaviour and training needs to formulate a plan that ensures you achieve success with your dog
- One hour training session to carry out your training plan
- A detailed follow up report at the end of the session
- Ongoing phone/email support for up to 3 months*
Training 1-2-1s
1 hour - £60

Behavioural 1-2-1s
1 hour - £80

*Ongoing support for a one off 1-2-1 is 1 month
Ongoing support for a block of 4 sessions is up to 3 months
4 week Puppy Training Programme
Our 4 week puppy training programme focuses on teaching vital life skills, socialisation, self-control and good manners. The programme is suitable for puppies from 8 weeks up to 5 months.
Our programme covers:
- Advice on puppy matters e.g. biting, chewing, toilet training etc
- Teaching basic cues e.g. sit, stay, leave it, settle, drop
- Recall training
- Focus/watch me
- Loose lead walking
- Constructive toy play
- Handling and examination skills for vets and groomers
- How to greet without jumping up
- Socialisation and appropriate play with other dogs
- Socialisation around new people
- Socialisation around novel items/environments
£220 for 4 weeks
Training Video Call
Our video calls provide you with the opportunity to receive training advice from the comfort of your home. We are able to advise on basic training needs and help guide you through training exercises on the call. Please note aggression is excluded from this service.
Video calls are also perfect for discussing how to prepare for a new puppy!
Session includes:
- A 30 minute zoom/phone call to provide basic behaviour and training advice
- A detailed follow email at the end of the session including all training advice discussed on the call
£30 for 30 minutes
- Follow up calls are discounted to £20

Alice is an amazing dog trainer, no doubt about it! She is extremely informative and makes sure that you understand why certain ways of training are better for your dog than others, so you yourself learn things as well as your dog. We had 4 sessions with Alice, and felt that our puppy learnt more in those sessions than in the 10 sessions we had with another trainer! Pandora
Alice is an excellent trainer. I came to her when I was experiencing my dog barking at other dogs when walking on the lead. Within only a few training sessions I was able to see a difference in Pandora who was much more focused on me and could look at other dogs in the distance with no reaction. A month on and Pandora can now walk next to other dogs with no reaction at all! Amazing!! I loved training with Alice, she was dedicated, clear on what I had to do and was able to get the best out of Pandora.
Luna
Being a first time dog owner I didn’t know what to expect when it came to puppy training but Alice made it so simple and easy for us. From the start we could see Alice had lots of experience working with and understanding dogs.
Not only did she provide a clear training plan on what we had to do but also went the extra mile to help us when Luna decided she would become a fussy eater. Alice was able to get us to think outside the box with Luna’s training and find fun ways to encourage her to eat! I would definitely recommend Alice to anyone who is looking for a fun and friendly yet professional dog trainer.
Hattie
Alice was keenly interested in what Hattie’s needs were and equipped us with the tools to help get her there. We really liked how Alice was able to get us to think like a dog, which helped us to understand how Hattie experiences the world and how to apply this to her training. Asides from being brilliant with Hattie, Alice had a kind, approachable and non-judgemental style to her training. She works hard and is always available to offer help/advice when needed. We look forward to training with Alice again in the future.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alice if you are looking for a dog trainer! She is clearly very knowledgeable and her love for dogs shines through in her sessions. Alice really listened and understood the behaviours we wanted to work on and designed fun and informative sessions to address those. Training is now enjoyable instead of frustrating for both us and Julio and we have seen great improvements in his behaviour!
